Oh, definitely. I love it. I've passed it on to some friends. Pretty sure that my sister loves it even more than I do, actually.

It's so good. I've been listening to it way too much lately. Not a weak song on the whole album.

I showed this to a buddy of mine after he showed me a video of Lady Gaga. I think I won.

I can't decide if I want to wait to buy this one or not. She's a favorite of mine, but since it's a triple album (!), it costs more than I ever pay for CDs. And my finances are reeeeal tight.

Its really good, if that helps. Double and triple seem to have a lot of filler, but this hardly has any.

Yeah, I haven't paid more than $12 for a CD in ages. It sounds like splitting hairs, but I'm trying to save every penny I can after my European binge. I'll probably listen to it and then decide.

Underrated. Better than the kind of mediocre and overpraised In the Court of the Crimson King.

I always preferred Larks' Tongues in Aspic over Court of the Crimson King.

Never listened to Islands.

The Estatic is okay. A few stand-outs. Most of them are too short.

He's on the right track though. It's not a return to form (IE:There's nothing on the disc lyrically that touches 'Mathematics', 'Hip-Hop' or even some of his earlier gems with Kwali, like 'Respiration'.) but it's a pleasant listen.

I take it it would be best to listen to the other two Joanna Newsom albums before jumping into this new one.

Malachai's "Ugly Side of Love"

Sounds like 70s brit rock with slight hip hop influence and other old school stuff. Its not perfect nor even what I'm into but its interesting enough for me to keep giving it a chance.

I've been listening to nothing but Teen Dream by Beach House. I agree that it's really fucking good. It's definitely a new favorite.

I'm looking for a great hip hop album to listen to. Something newish would be cool since I haven't kept up with what is new and good. Any recommendations?

Abandoned Language ~ dälek.

Atonal, menacing, confrontational.

As for things without links:

Carried Away ~ People Under The Stairs (Laidback, soulful, funny)
Yes! ~ k-os (Poppy, catchy, self-contained)
For Hero: For Fool ~ Subtle (Overwhelming, cerebral, busy)
The Inevitable Rise And Liberation Of NiggyTardust! ~ Saul Williams (Vicious, noisy, thumping)
Game Theory ~ The Roots -- or really anything by this band, though Rising Down's a grower and not a good introductory point if you're just getting into their newer work.

I guess I need an AV. Is Traz here or does she know about the site.

Recently? Broken Bells. They did a live show in LA last night at the Bootleg Theater and it was sold out of course. Reports have been coming in all day. Suppose to be a great show.

The album is short but sweet. Folky with an unintruding Dangermouse production.

I'm also keen on the new Massive Attack and Autechre records. Waiting for the new Flying Lotus but not until May.

The new Joanna Newsom album is fantastic and has exceeded my supremely high expectations. I'm still debating whether or not I prefer it to Ys but suffice it to say, it was definitely worth the long wait. March can't come soon enough so I can finally see her live! :D

the thing that astounds me about this is every time someone puts out a double album i always think 'hmm, this is good, but if they trimmed this track and got rid of these couple tracks they would have an amazing single album.'

this is a triple album and there's not a single track on it that feels like filler or feels out of place.
