A pair of unrelated stories that I found moving.
One: Twins. Identical twins. One a boy and the other a girl. Related. Incredible! I found another one!
Two: People using their wealth to help those who have no wealth.

Has anybody read that open letter to the 53% marine that (former poster at the other forum) Maxuda wrote?

Of course. However, if and when the SOPA bill and its Senate cousin pass, everyone will be prosecuted fully for even breathing on the Internet. Hurray! :-/ :-|

SOPA and its cousin have a pretty good chance of not passing, there's huge money against the bill (google, facebook, a lot of game developers, etc), for a change. Plus, some huge sites are planning blackouts to protest. How many more people will know what SOPA is if google and wikipedia go offline for a day opposing it?

I don't trust Congress to not do something stupid, that's why. However, I fully support the protests and I did get an e-mail telling me what day the blackout would happen. I'm sticking with the "Hope for the best, expect the worst" line of thinking here.

The main difference is, big money that can pay more than the other side for their interests is in the arena, additionally, congressman are generally speaking, greedy, corrupt shitbags, but if they want any shot at re-election, they have to listen to overwhelming numbers. And if Reddit can strong arm congressmen into changing their positions, the result of a google shutdown can certainly do the job.

This is true, and that's why I'm still remotely hoping the bill won't pass. Also I actually did a quick half ass essay about the bill and how terrible it is. Why am I not surprised to find Hollywood and the music industry all over this? Those dinosaurs can go fuck themselves, the Internet should not be restricted and censored just so they can try and protect their aging, corrupt fiefdoms.

In think the biggest factor in SOPA is that companies like google, etc, can't afford to let this bill through,Hollywood and the music industry are really just gunning for a monopoly on their product.. but Google, facebook, game developers can't possibly afford to let this through.

And people seriously defend corporate money in politics, as I understand it, a majority of politicians supporting the bill haven't even read it. Kick the despicable cunts out, jail them for corruption - Like a normal, healthy country would. No, instead America's turned into a plutocracy that hates being called anything but a democracy.

Reading that was a strange experience. Serious religion issues.

Why would you go to court to demand the removal of a religious banner from a school wall in the first place? Must be the effect of having to live alongside a bunch of religious nuts. The temptation to fuck with their heads must be hard to suppress.

The mansion they lived in is unbelievable. I remember a couple of years ago when Kim Dotcom donated a bunch of fireworks to Auckland city and sat in a helicopter and watched them as they were used.

Complete idiots, but I suppose it's sort of endearing.
