Ben Wheatley films:

Kill List (2011)
High Rise (2015)
A Field In England (2013)
Free Fire (2016)
Sightseers (2012)
Down Terrace (2009)

The man is an artist. I also wonder if he is going to keep heading in a political direction as his last 2 films are very focused on that plus social commentary. Although all of his movies are kind of political in their own ways. He is one of my favorite modern directors.

Post Re: Lists Lists Lists

I made a top 10 in the manner of Ignatiy Vishnevetsky (http://www.indiewire.com/2012/06/video- ... hy-133960/)

1. Casablanca (1942, Curtiz)
2. The Lobster (2015, Lanthimos)
3. Before Midnight (2013, Linklater)
4. Lost in Translation (2003, Coppola)
5. Psycho (1960, Hitchcock)
6. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004, Gondry)
7. The Red Turtle (2016, Dudok de Wit)
8. Fight Club (1999, Fincher)
9. The Incredibles (2004, Bird)
10. The Night of The Hunter (1957, Laughton)

This list is actually very representative of my taste. Casablanca might actually be my number one movie of all time. There are also multiple "talking heads" films, my favorite genre. :D As well are dark comedies, so I'm very happy with both Fight Club and The Lobster. And to be honest, Psycho is a black comedy too ;)
I'm also pleased with the two animated features (drawing is my greatest passion, besides cinema of course) and to finish, an odd one, The Night of The Hunter.
Yep, this was fun :)

Post Re: Lists Lists Lists

Small, belated list of everything I watched in August:

1. WALL·E (Stanton, '08, 10 out of 10 score)
2. War For The Planet Of The Apes (Reeves, '17, 8.5)
3. Logan Lucky (Soderbergh, '17, 8)
4. Detroit (Bigelow, '17, 8)
5. The Fugitive (Davis, '93, 8)

This was my 3rd time watching WALL-E, but my first watch since the year it came out, and it was just as magical experience now as it was back then; it's probably my favorite Disney movie period, to be honest. A review of it is incoming someday. Anyway, this was my 2nd time watching The Fugitive, but my first viewing in at least 15 years, because, while I remember it having a couple of memorable action setpieces (the train crash!), besides that, I felt it failed to distinguish itself overall from other thrillers. However, while the main conspiracy plot is still generic and undercooked, the chase was better than the catch this time, as Andrew Davis did a good job of making it feel like Kimble was always THIS close to being caught at all times, which made it a pretty fun, suspenseful ride this time around, so it's definitely improved in my esteem.
