Nameless, you know my unbridled strength of character and powerful commitment to content, but I have to admit, this movie broke me in profound ways, ways that even six watches of Green Lantern: Director's Cut never could.

Oh jeeze. It has a shockingly bad score, a score which carries a level of collective spite the likes I have never seen on a production of such caliber. Only problem is... is it on Netflix? I can't possibly pay for this movie

At what point in the movie did it break you? Was it a twist? A lack thereof?

I might try to watch the rest later. But oooof.

There are so many incredibly strange decisions in that 50 minutes alone, the most recent being when Detective Harry Hole gets randomly called to look into a missing person, who turns out be alive, then when he leaves she is killed and turned into a snowman, then Harry Hole gets called back to the crime scene where he's greeted... by the woman. She then explains that no, she is not the same woman we just met, but her twin sister.

This is a more convoluted and less satisfying versions of how a plot line in Search Party plays out.

It's weird because Tomas Alfredson showed such a deft hand with Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy in piling on the convolution that's inherent in that story only to home in on the central drama where it counts. The Snowman is just so goddamn misguided in that regard. The killer's backstory is so fucking absurd, and the moment you meet the adult version of the character on screen, it's so easy to figure out he's the killer
because the movie very conspicuously makes him a surgeon when the killings obviously require surgical knowledge, even though the detectives never seem to realize that little detail themselves.

This weekend won’t work since my mega procrastinator friend group is finally having our Xmas party. Next Friday would work, possibly next Sunday depending on whether or not I end up doing anything after BLACK PANTHER.

This writer/director, Timothey A. Chey... I'm most interested in The Genius Club

"Seven geniuses, with IQs over 200, are plucked from their lives on Christmas Eve to try to solve the world's problems in one night."

or Suing the Devil

"A down-and-out law student sues Satan for $8 trillion dollars. Satan appears to defend himself and the trial of the century and pleads the fifth. He readily admits that he cannot take on the flesh. Genesis 3:14 confirms this as he is only allowed to eat dust!"

and then he directed a David and Goliath movie, a documentary, and this slam dunk competition movie. WHAT A GUY

Believe me, I wrote that spoiler in a way that makes it sound more sensible then the movie executes it, because I'm not actually capable or articulating such stupidity. But let's leave it at this: The movie introduces the killer in a context that makes it clear you're not supposed to suspect him, but ignoring the immediate red flags about him would require you to be a complete idiot.
