Steven Soderbergh's latest Unsane is his worst film yet.

Funnily enough, this is one of the worst things about season five.

I actually didn't watch the remix of four - it seemed smarter to watch the original version, although now I'm not so sure.

I always liked season 4 but I like it even more now that I'm 4 episodes into season 5.

Someone said Lindsey's terrible green screen in season 5 is making fun of season 4's green screen and that makes sense, doesn't make it funny, but makes sense.

I don't think that's making fun of it. It's just... how they had to film her, since she didn't want to do the show. There's lots of bad green screen for many actors all through the season.

The remix feels more like original-flavor Arrested Development because setups and punchlines get to sit much closer to each other. The first cut of season four didn't work because the diffuse timeline involved in breaking up the story by way of individual characters meant that by the time you arrived at a punchline, it was hard to remember what was even intended as the setup, since it usually sat several episodes back in another character's episode. The trade-off with the redux cut is that there are some gags that were set up as big reveals (for example, the true nature of Fake Block) that are ruined by arranging things more chronologically.

Yeah, cause Fake Block was originally the funniest moment in season 4 for me, but I mean I'll trade that to avoid watching 30 minutes of George Sr. or Lindsey in one sitting.

Oh, I didn't mean to sound like I was disagreeing with you (because I don't). I was just adding my two cents on the hows the whys of what made season four tick...or not.

Yeah no I was agreeing with you as well, cause I did feel like the Fakeblock reveal was pretty much ruined with the new timeline, but it was a good trade.

No Isle of Dogs? I really need to see Annihilation. I forgot Maze Runner was even a thing. A Quiet Place is pretty great, but I prefer Isle.

It's actually at a nice fairly eco-conscious lawn service company, only occasional spraying but I gotta have it just in case.

Doug Ford shows Thanos was wrong. You really need to be judicious about exactly what half of the population you wipe out of existence.

A Quiet Place 8.5
Isle Of Dogs 8
Tully 8
Annihilation 8
Avengers: Infinity War
Deadpool 7.5
Ready Player One 7.5
Compared to what I'd seen by this time last year, I still haven't seen anything as good as Logan, but on the other hand, nothing from this year has been as weak as Split, so it kind of balances out; coming up, I hope to double back and digitally rent You Were Never Really Here in July when it's released in that format, as well as probably check out The Incredibles 2 and Hereditary ASAP. In the meantime, I'd like to drive to Memphis on Monday in order to check out First Reformed, if I can; here's hoping!
