Have you checked out the new Perfect Circle record yet, DJ? I've skimmed through some of it, and so far, it seems like a pretty chill listen, but in a good way, in the kind of way that makes you wish the band hadn't taken a decade and a half to put out something new, you know?

Don't know how you feel about Nine Inch Nails in general, but I think they're putting out a new full-length in June, and metal-wise, Amorphis is also releasing their new one next month, and they've been doing pretty good the last few records, so I'll probably check that one out at some point.

I have a lot of their stuff but I've always been lukewarm on them in general.

There's a new box set of the final Miles/Coltrane tour from 1960. I've been trying to sort out and keep up with several Sun Ra reissues and vault-cleanings from an odd assorment of labels like Strut, Modern Harmonics, Roaratorio. Collecting Sun Ra has never been easy.

I can't download a box! In all seriousness, my jazz knowledge is as the saying goes, a mile wide and an inch deep. I'm doing some work for the Las Vegas Jazz Society and I don't want to be caught off guard in conversation so I'm refreshing my memory.

I'm assuming this is different from the All of You box set.

What kind of work? Maybe I can make some more helpful recommendations.

Quite-Gone Genie wrote:

Hm, I wasn't sure. This new set is in Miles' Bootleg Series as Vol. 6. That box set All of You (on Acrobat) appears to pretty much be a bootleg. They do share the concerts from Stockholm (which are among the most famous of jazz bootlegs, practically Miles' "Royal Albert Hall") and Copenhagen, but Vol. 6 includes shows from Paris while All of You adds shows from Germany, Swiss and Holland.
