When i started to look at that list i thought theres no way i've seen any of these obscurities... but i've seen 10 ;)

Maybe 12: I forgot Meyerwitz Stories and Marriage Story. Both should probably be after the first Paul Bartel but before the third Paul Bartel.

some pieces of acting first viewed in 2019 of which I am quite fond:

Image
Hideko Takamine, FLOATING CLOUDS
Jennifer Lawrence, MOTHER!
Kathleen Turner, ROMANCING THE STONE
Susan Tyrrell, BUTCHER BAKER NIGHTMARE MAKER
Brie Larson, ROOM
Tantoo Cardinal, LOYALTIES
O-Lan Jones, SHELF LIFE
Geneviève Bujold, ISABEL
Sharmila Tagore, DEVI
Cicely Tyson, A HERO AIN'T NOTHIN' BUT A SANDWICH
Joy Coghill, CHANGE OF HEART

Image
Larry B. Scott, A HERO AIN'T NOTHIN' BUT A SANDWICH
Joaquin Phoenix, YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE
Paul Winfield, A HERO AIN'T NOTHIN' BUT A SANDWICH
W.C. Fields, IT'S A GIFT
Matthew McConaughey, THE BEACH BUM
Harry Dean Stanton, LUCKY
Donald Sutherland, THRESHOLD
Shahab Hosseini, THE SALESMAN
Caveh Zahedi, I AM A SEX ADDICT
Hal Holbrook, THAT EVENING SUN

Image
Nichelle Nichols, TRUCK TURNER
Elaine May, SMALL TIME CROOKS
Rachel Weisz, THE FAVOURITE
Hong Chau, DOWNSIZING
Pam Grier, ORIGINAL GANGSTAS
Mare Winningham, THRESHOLD
Mamie Van Doren, HIGH SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL!
Mary Woronov, SCENES FROM THE CLASS STRUGGLE IN BEVERLY HILLS
Alfre Woodard, GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN
Melinda Dillon, SONGWRITER

Image
Seymour Cassel, IN THE SOUP
Arthur Kennedy, TRIAL
Ray McKinnon, THAT EVENING SUN
Barry Keoghan, THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER
Yaphet Kotto, TRUCK TURNER
Bruce Davison, SHORT EYES

I just rewatched a bunch of In the Soup while getting that pic and it should be on the big list too for Cassel alone. One of the great comic performances

This will change as I catch up with more films from 2019 like Marriage Story, The Farewell, etc. (and also ordered top tens are silly on principle), but:

01. 1917
02. Parasite
03. The Irishman
04. Knives Out
05. Crawl
06. Us
07. Jojo Rabbit
08. John Wick: Chapter 3
09. Dr. Sleep
10. Hustlers
NOTE:
The above-written is wholly and solely the perspective of DaMU and should not be taken as an effort to rile, malign, or diminish you, dummo.

The Irishman and Once Upon a Time are the only two releases last year I remember seeing that I was very fond of. I honestly barely saw anything new this year at all. Mainly stuffed as many Netflix documentary specials down my gullet as possible.

Wild Wild Country may have been the best new release I saw all year.

Just a reminder that Seymour Cassel was in Star Trek: TNG. Looks like feathered hair will make a comeback in the 2300's.

I still have a few films left which I plan to see, but here's my current top 10 of this year:

1) Cats
2) Cats
3) Cats
4) Cats
5) Cats
6) Cats
7) Cats
8) Cats
9) Cats
10) Parasite. Actually, no. It's Cats.

After that, here's the next 10 spots.

11) Parasite
12) Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
13) 1917
14) Marriage Story
15) Knives Out
16) Little Women
17) The Lighthouse
18) The Irishman
19) Joker
20) Toy Story 4

As for some honorable mentions, I'd list The Last Black Man in San Francisco and Apollo 11.

As usual, I haven't seen a whole lot from this year compared to some other people here, but this was still a very fine year.

The only one I haven't seen (yet) is Parasite, but even though I didn't love several of them, I really don't dislike any of those films. I won't rank them, but Moonlight is easily the best for me, with Green Book probably being the weakest of the bunch.

The only one I haven't seen (yet) is Parasite, but even though I didn't love several of them, I really don't dislike any of those films. I won't rank them, but Moonlight is easily the best for me, with Green Book probably being the weakest of the bunch.
I wouldn't classify any of them as terrible, but the top 3 I enjoyed quite a bit more than the rest.

My top 10 movies of 2019:

1. The Irishman
2. Knives Out
3. Uncut Gems
4. Us
5. Parasite
6. Transit
7. Marriage Story
8. Ford v Ferrari
9. Alita: Battle Angel
10. Booksmart

Haven't Seen: 1917, Dolemite is My Name, Dragged Across Concrete, El Camino, Midsommar, Once Upon a Time...In Hollywood, Rocketman

I suppose the only unusual entry is Alita: Battle Angel. I'm a sucker for sci-fi action/adventure flicks. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, which also doesn't have the best reputations here, was one of my favorite movies of 2017, for what it's worth.

That one is playing at my local repertory theater somewhere in the coming months. I got so excited initially when it was announced until I realized it was playing in their "so bad it's great" series and I'm not sure if I want ironic hipsters to spoil my Italian horror fun with their obnoxious laughter.

Что же такое Hydra? Актуальные ссылки на Гидру!

Post by OOHydraOO » Wed Mar 11, 2020 4:48 am

-много лет отличной работы;
-множество продавцов;

6. Sex, Lies, and Videotape
7. El Mariachi
8. Clerks

Those top 10 favorites lists were cool. Some I had seen 9/10 from, some only half or even less than that.

Losing Ground
Losing Ground is awesome. It's got so much character and such a well-realized point of view.

Both Losing Ground and Wanda recently played at my local repertory theater but I had to work on both occasions sadly enough.

I kind of agonized once my list was down to 14. But then I just decided, if I could only have one, which would it be? Then kept going, kept going, and cut it off at 10.

These aren't necessarily the "best" comedies (whatever that means) but they are the ones that make me the most happy. Especially something like Trouble With Angels, which I'm not even going to try to separate from nostalgia, but also I rewatched it recently and it's really funny!
