I bet none of you "film fans" have seen the movie I just quoted, let alone seen it three times and read the book and read his other book, twice.

The fact that you can't recall our interactions over that movie, combined with the notion that I cannot right now conjure the GIF of the goofy girl removing her virtual helmet from said film, should doubly shame you and your biases. You're worse than the internet that's erased my preferred GIFs. You're an internet that doesn't even remember my GIFs. I can only link you to that nonsense. And shame on you for that.

“I would argue that masturbation is the human animal's most important adaptation. The very cornerstone of our technological civilization. Our hands evolved to grip tools, all right—including our own. You see, thinkers, inventors, and scientists are usually geeks, and geeks have a harder time getting laid than anyone. Without the built-in sexual release valve provided by masturbation, it's doubtful that early humans would have ever mastered the secrets of fire or discovered the wheel. And you can bet that Galileo, Newton, and Einstein never would have made their discoveries if they hadn't first been able to clear their heads by slapping the salami (or "knocking a few protons off the old hydrogen atom"). The same goes for Marie Curie. Before she discovered radium, you can be certain she first discovered the little man in the canoe.”

Sadly, no. But the movie DOES have Mark Rylance wearing some of the worst wigs you've ever seen. So it's got that going for it.

Up on the Tomatometer, down on Metacritic. Weirdly, I'm looking at a Fandango ad for the movie with a countdown clock that shows it being released in another 12 days, 4 hours, 17 minutes and 32 seconds. My chips remain on "bomb."

Seriously, if you want to do the math you leave that Metacritic shit out, that site is a complete and utter waste. We're perfectly capable of tracking review averages on RT and it overall has more critiques, you want a sample size you get it from RT.

And we're up to 86% with 42 ratings, with a respectful comedy rating of 6.7/10. Okay it has a 54 on Metacritic but that's out of 12 critics, like, who even cares? The only thing REAL PEOPLE care about is the number on the front page of RT, you want to do the math you keep it simple. This movie is going to be a mild hit

I honestly haven't heard a single argument as to why Metacritic is favored among the very unreal people of our community. It just kinda is, like, RT has all the same critics... but more of them. What exactly are you looking for out of a review aggregation service? My hope is accuracy
