My nightmare roommate is approaching 30 and he’s literally incapable of taking care of themself, so take solace in the knowledge you’re doing better than that.

Happy Birthday BTW
Unless I'm secretly your nightmare roommate. Thank you.

Happy Birthday Trenchcoat. I think I'm 28 or something and yeesh, I'm getting there. It'll just be like my 20s only with an extra decade's worth of marijuana, nicotine, and alcohol caked in my internal organs

33, here. 30 is not so bad, although I kind of wonder how I'm still alive, so...happy birthday, Trenchcoat.

Also while I enjoyed Captain Marvel, it was a dumb movie. Kind of reminded me of the first Thor and Captain America 1.

By the way, I'm watching Friends for the first time ever (ugh) and did Jules actually like Ross? He's the worst, with the exception of Chandler who is the worst for real.
Most over rated show ever. Almost as funny as "Everyone Loves Raymond", which isn't funny at all.

Hey guys, my family van blew up and warranty services have denied our claim. We were cutting it short on money after the unrelenting shit storm of raising children kicked up the difficulty to 11 this year, so I decided to try and sell all of my Criterion Blu Rays. I'm hoping that might get us a little closer to getting back on the road. They are all in excellent condition. If you have any interest in any of these titles, shoot me a message and we can work out a deal:

The Man Who Knew Too Much
Yi Yi
Marketa Lazarova
Charulata
Identification of a Woman
Weekend (Godard)
Ministry of Fear
The Red Shoes
La Jetee/Sans Soleil
Paris, Texas
The Thin Red Line
Blow Out
Cul De Sac
Letter Never Sent
Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence
The Gold Rush
The Big City
Design for Living
La Notte
The Music Room
White Material
Revanche
8 1/2
Wings of Desire
Persona
Late Spring
Ali Fear Eats the Soul
Touch of Zen
Repulsion
House
Lost in America
Woman in the Dunes
Branded to Kill
A Man Escaped
Red Desert
Shoah
Play Time
Salo
By Brakhage
Breaking the Waves
Watership Down
Breathless
Chungking Express
Valerie and Her Week of Wonders
Complete Jean Vigo
Fanny and Alexander
Days of Heaven
Sansho the Baliff
The Color of Pomegranates
Modern Times
A Hollis Frampton Odyssey
World on a Wire
The Phantom Carriage
The Great Dictator
Stagecoach
The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant
Last Year at Marienbad
Trilogy of Life

I am really hoping that these will end up in hands of folks who will appreciate them as much as I do, so I thought I'd reach out here. Thank you all!

I was going to say the design on Sonic is truly terrible, but as the trailer went on I was struck by how that might be one of the worst trailers I've ever seen. Like the choice of music... that weird, not funny Carey scene in the middle... just the whole thing...?

Like, they went back in time to get 1995 Jim Carrey to play Robotnik and managed to go the entire filming period without letting him encounter 2019 Jim Carrey, that’s dedication to art

Do you guys ever watch trailers for these things and just think "video game movie really hit their pinnacle with Street Fighter".

Really should have just stopped there, nothing can ever compare.

rotflmfao, "munchies" is a strange sensation and doesn't seem to correlate with hunger, like, I can be perfectly full and get hit with a wave of "munchies" and all of a sudden I have a bag of candy and 20 McNuggets with hot mustard dipping sauce

Just bought my festival pass for the Brussels International Film Festival. The program isn't announced yet, so now I'm hoping for something good.
I will definitely publish some write-ups about what I see there on this forum, tho. Maybe I'll start a new thread for those, maybe I'll just post them in my own one.
I'm kinda excited.

I will!
I'm just lucky to live close to Brussels, which has a big film community with a lot of activities. But don't be mistaken, this is not some prestigious, exclusive filmfestival (even though the organization likes to pretend to). It's only its second edition, and last year the few screenings I attended were only half full. So purchasing a festival pass isn't as much about being sure of access to screenings, but rather about price. It's just way cheaper and it allows me to take more risks with what I'm seeing.
Still really excited for it.

It was a cut above your typical kids affair for sure, and by far the best video game movie. That Goosebumps guy knows what he's doing, the direction was strong throughout. The script was energetic and the jokes land, there were lots of nuggets for us 90s Pokemon fans. Ryan Reynolds brings his A game, his Pikachu > Deadpool. The movie got maybe a bit too sappy at times and I guessed the twist halfway through but w/e, it's so much fun and there are so many good sequences. That Torterra sequence was better than anything in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Strong 8/10
