"...all necessities provided, all anxieties tranquilized, all boredom amused."

I'm sure we all got the same vibe from that scene, right?

I tried to talk about Mad Men on the IMDB forum. I posted an opinion

Two people said - No, you're wrong.
Cancer
is bad.

I don't know what I was thinking.

That's what you get from posting on IMDb. Cancer.

I actually made a mistake and thought that Sunday's episode was the finale and I was pretty happy with it.. until I realized there was another one. Now I just don't know what to think.

Well that was interesting.

The more I think about it, the more I like it.

I enjoyed that. So it's pretty much implied that Don came up with that at the end right?

I feel like I've never seen anything like that--someone taken aback and realising they're in love. Moss is fucking great in that scene.

she played that moment of disbelief perfectly. but that was a moment that took me aback at first too even though it makes perfect sense and has been a long time coming. that was a great payoff to something I never even realized was driving to one.

The finale is the one episode this season I did not watch again the next day

In some ways I feel like it was a little too wrappy-uppy. However - the more I've thought about it, the more I like it. I want to say Don was true to himself but that isn't quite right... he was true to the man he had become.

Here's some storylines they wanted to cover.

They really could have used a two-hour finale to ease that feeling.

Probably - but maybe not

I couldn't complain even if the finale was Don running off to work in a lumber yard after faking his death and never talking to anyone again

Because mad men was just all those years of omg so awesome and insightful
