there's an incredibly well-done one in Peppermint Candy during the highway drive scene if someone can be bothered finding and capping

Embarrassingly the only Korean films I own are Green Fish, Peppermint Candy, and Oasis. I don't even own a 3-Disc Collector's Edition of Oldboy.

Technically it only half counts, as it's half time lapse and half match-dissolve, and half of the match simply consists of staying in the correct lane. The only way you could screw up this match-dissolve is by executing the rarely seen match-head-on-collision.

Match Dissolve (w/ images)

Considering the duration of the time lapse and the fact that cars don't usually stay in the exact same position on the road I think it's pretty impressive but yeah, I guess your semantics are correct

:D

I'd say it works. Though, as Trip says, garners a couple of demerits for remaining in the same location (I guess) and only altering part of the image. There's a nice highway one in Badlands, after the house fire scene if I recall, that match dissolves road and river. It's a rough one, and barely noticeable, but carries meaning.

Oh, and I own that 3-Disc Collector's Edition of Oldboy. Want to borrow it, LEAVES?

Now, excuse me while I go back to the shadows and let you and Trip do your thing. :D
