Bitch Better Have My Money still has probably my favorite music video of the year, though. And not just because of Mads.

Mac DeMarco's new stuff is, idk. If it makes sense, it's like your memory of your favorite alt rock radio staples - but only the memory and feeling you got listening to it. It's kind of great, both of the releases he put out recently.

What about that new Dr. Dre ( :!: )?

Didn't mean that as a statement, not sure what to make of it yet.

I haven't had a chance to listen to Compton yet. Phish is on tour right now, which means I'm listening almost exclusively to Phish right now.

I wasn't too impressed with the Dre. Some nice instrumentals, but the vocals were pretty lame.

I bought tickets today to attend my second live music experience. It's sad that I'm 28 and I've only been to one live concert (excluding Atlanta Symphony Orchestra). Puscifer is one of my favorite bands and to see them live will be amazing. Maynard and Puscifer will suffice until Tool tours again, which I'm not sure will happen again.

This is way better than anything on his EP.

Also kind of becomes a game of "name the film footage"

Jay Rock's new album is one to add to the pile for the argument that 2015 is one of the best years for hip-hop in a long time.

Only time will tell, but it's one of the better ones if it holds up like it is now in further listening.

Their debut is very unique compared to the others imo. It's my personal favorite for that reason.

This new one is the best one they've had for a few albums. It doesn't change their sound much, except brings in a bit more reverb than usual, but that's always welcome. I'm happy with them sticking to what they do. Some bands try to change their aesthetic and become bad. Others stay the same and get boring. Beach House's sound is so good though and they vary it up just enough that for me it's still appreciated. I typically prefer more of the same if it's something great than a band switching it up and releasing nails to my ears.

This one sounds different than the last two, in my opinion. It's more ethereal. Less anthemic.

Teen Dream is still my favorite.

I agree it's more etheral, I think the amped up reverb plays into that.

New Lana is pretty damn good (unlike the Weeknd's album which was a bit of a disappointment despite all his new success).

The Drake x Future mixtape is good too, which is saying a lot since I don't much like Future. His production is always great of course, but he's not aggressively overusing the autotune on this one, so his voice is actually tolerable here. I assume because they wouldn't be in sync with each other if he is singing in autone and Drake is crooning off key in his normal voice.

Almost nothing: Beirut, The Weekend, FKA Twigs, Beach House, Dre, Girlpool, Other Lives... I think that's it. I usually don't keep up with the new stuff, but I might as well now, huh? Also, it doesn't have to be '15, it can be whenever. I was going to post this in a general music thread, because I thought we had one, but after a search I couldn't find anything.

It leaked.

Initial impression is it could probably be cut down by about 4-5 songs, but when it's good, it's very good, and it's that most of the time.

I've been enjoying Game's album. As usual he's heavy on the name drops, but it's still lyrically his best album overall. His verses on Dollar and a Dream are fantastic.

I've also been really enjoying the Travi$ Scott album. And Kelela of course....

Kanye's recent aesthetic really seems influenced by Scott. Maybe it's the other way around, but I don't know.

Free TC was rather overlooked - I think one of the better narratives in music was that west coast hip-hop was ridiculously good this year in general, Kendrick's album was probably the top of the pile - but there was a huge amount of ambitious, enjoyable stuff pulling the west coast's rap scene back into a dominant position.
