13 of the scariest performances you've ever seen

1. The Exorcist 3 - Brad Dourif
2. Ringu - Rie Ino'o
3. Jurassic Park - Richard Attenborough

why? when I was a child Jurassic Park traumatized me severely. as a young'n, I could not fathom why someone would see it as a good idea to re-introduce dinosaurs into modern day and the mayhem that followed in those movies proved my point. I was even worried that someone would try and do this in real life. my parents told me that was ridiculous but Richard Attenborough, displaying his creatures with such blithe cheer, told me that no, someone just might. and they wouldn't think of the consequences before it's too late! I wonder if watching Attenborough in that movie helped to undermine my trust in adults just a small bit.
obviously watching it as an adult one can see Attenborough's character as something of a surrogate for a filmmaker pushing the boundaries of technology. he's a bit over-confident and that leads to the downfall of his park. but only because he has such pure-hearted desires to bring joy to the world's children.

why? when I was a child Jurassic Park traumatized me severely. as a young'n, I could not fathom why someone would see it as a good idea to re-introduce dinosaurs into modern day and the mayhem that followed in those movies proved my point.
This is awesome. I was in my 20s when it came out so I missed out on this terror.

Hell, I've got a passable entry...

13 movies that strangely depressed you while watching them.

1. Grown Ups

I watched a little bit of this for the first time earlier today and it bummed me out for some reason. Maybe it was the shitty vignette style script. No real attempt to tie them all together. Just half baked circumstances that were obviously thrown together during a late night beer and bullshit session. "Okay, what do we have so far? Rob Schneider inexplicably has some really hot daughters and we go to a water park at some point. The rest we can make up on the fly." I guess the depressing part is that enough people saw this that it warranted a sequel.

1. Grown Ups
2. Ghostbusters (2016) - Bill Murray slumming it, plus the villain getting tossed aside and making better-looking Chris Hemsworth the new villain.

I'm pretty sure I was the only person in that theater not enjoying themselves and that knowledge bummed me out even more.

Haha, I got in a bizarrely heated argument with a stranger who heard me bashing that one while leaving the theatre.

2. Ghostbusters (2016)
3. Guardians of the Galaxy
4. Smokin' Aces

Watching Ray Liotta try his darnedest in such a shitty movie and knowing his career is in the DTV gutter.
