13 movies that strangely depressed you while watching them.

1. Grown Ups
2. Ghostbusters (2016)
3. Guardians of the Galaxy
4. Smokin' Aces
5. The Descent 2

(Destroying a wonderful stand alone film by even changing the first films ending so they can milk a sequel out of it)

which is to say I found it depressing more than disturbing/revolting. (maybe I'm too inured to graphic imagery on a screen)

although finding it depressing may not be the most unusual reaction.

because it reminded me that global cooperation in the face of such destruction will never, ever, ever, ever be this easy. (not unless climate change takes the form of giant sea monsters)

This sounds like a problematic topic. There are plenty of movies where the seemingly "normal" person turns out to be batshit crazy but not so many "crazy but actually sane" ones. Then to further winnow it down to horror flicks? Good luck.

Having said that. Maybe...

I mean crazy as presented as a lunatic, cult member, having dementia or an institutionalized person, but then it turns out they were right, if that helps.

I think there's quite a few. At least 4 off the top of my head.

My interpretation is that Polanski's character was sane and that the apartment building was crazy, if that makes sense.

I'm pretty sure the guy from 10 Cloverfield Lane had a mental illness or two, regardless of whether he was right or wrong about
the invasion.
