"What about Ray Bradbury?"
"I'm aware of his work."

I like the cast and the production design, but I fear that it will be less like the book on which it's based and more like 1984.

Thought it would never happen.

Although I wonder how much - if any - of this differs from the story/script in the original production.

Upgrade

I believe this could be the next sleeper action hit, like John Wick.

It looks like a somewhat generic near-future thriller at first, but shit gets crazy at the 1:13 mark

For the release of Chappaquiddick, I've noticed that some Kennedy supporters are still trying to tell us how Mary Jo probably couldn't have been saved anyway. I assume that they're not all sober.

McAvoy and Hader are wonderful choices for Bill and Richie.
Andre Holland (Moonlight, A Wrinkle in Time) could play Mike. As for Ben, maybe Jesse Plemons?

I just read a little about this. The release date is not until August 2019. Tarantino is taking his time with this one.

Hotel Artemis - directed by Drew Pearce (Marvel one-shot: All Hail the King)

Hell of a cast: Jodie Foster, Sofia Boutella, Jeff Goldblum, Zachary Quinto, Dave Bautista, and Charlie Day.

In the near future a secret hospital for criminals is about to be infiltrated by a mob boss looking to get back his stolen diamonds.

Um, okay... can't say I'm hopeful for this one, as Woo's Hollywood-era releases were hardly his best, and The Killer is probably his most iconic film of any era of his career, so remaking it for American audiences seems like a fairly sketchy proposition in the first place. That being said, while I haven't seen anything from him since he went back to China, I've heard positive things about some of his more recent films, so maybe he's gotten his mojo back (and can keep it while coming back over the pond). At any rate, here's a new trailer for Ant-Man And The Wasp:

The audience at my Ant-Man screening was so depressed. They were all seeing a shrink.

The writer/director of the remake, Ramin Bahrani, wrote a Times article explaining his motivations as inspired by the "post-truth" social media era of today.
Ramin Bahrani wrote:Bradbury believed that we wanted the world to become this way. That we asked for the firemen to burn books. That we wanted entertainment to replace reading and thinking. That we voted for political and economic systems to keep us happy rather than thoughtfully informed. He would say that we chose to give up our privacy and freedom to tech companies. That we decided to entrust our cultural heritage and knowledge to digital archives. The greatest army of firemen will be irrelevant in the digital world. They will be as powerless as spitting babies next to whoever controls a consolidated internet. How could they stop one person, hiding in his parents’ basement with a laptop, from hacking into thousands of years of humanity’s collective history, literature and culture, and then rewriting all of it … or just hitting delete?

And who would notice?

Weird that Universal is distributing that. Would have thought they would have stuck with Sony. Guess Universal gave them a better deal.

Well, if this one is Craig's last Bond, let's just hope it's less Quandumb Of Solass/Hecktre and more Skyfall/Casino Royale, eh?
