Wolf actually makes a list: My favorite TV openings...
I've been having the idea of doing this for a while. I guess the title is pretty self explanatory. As something worth noting, I have not seen nearly as much TV shows as several (pretty much everyone) members of this place, and most of the shows I remember seeing are cartoons so... expect a few surprises. First entry soon.

Opening title or series premiere?
Buffy and Angel's opening titles give me the warm and fuzzies.

The opening titles of Elfen Lied will destroy your soul, then the show will do the rest of the work.

45. Pasión.
The Show: A Mexican soap opera about mmh... pirates, mouseketeers, I don't really have an idea. My mom sisters along with 90% of the woman I know watched i.
Why is it on the list? Well, I wouldn't call the opening "good" is just... well, I find it flat out hilarious with it's cheesiness and those guys having duel swords while the poeple is just standing there doing their normal activities crack the hell out of me. Plus, the Sarah Brightman song is not bad, even if it's vastly overplayed.
Anyway, coming up next, a show you actually know.

I do love the opening title and song for The Drew Carey Show, from seasons two-through-seven. "Cleveland Rocks" is so awesome.

Even if it is the cheapest opening title sequence ever, I have to give some props to Lost. At least it's distinctive.

44. CSI: Criminal Scene Investigation (S3).
The Show: You know, formulaic forensics procedural. I have to admit that I really like this show in stretches despite the formula. I stopped watching it after the Tarantino episode (which was incredible though).
Why do I have it here? Well, I think this theme by The Who fits really well and ist's very catchy. I really like how it ends with Warrick breaking the window and Grissom beating that dummy to see the blood spatter pattern.

43. Love Hina.
The Show: A relatively short anime comedy about how this awkward dude named Keitaro who has not been able to enter college ends up as the administrator of this hotel that it's populated by just girls, fucking hot girls and how hilarity ensues.
Why do I have the opening here? The song is sticky... like really, really sticky and because I find the show hilarious.

42. Danny Phantom.
The Show: the other Butch Hartman show, here we have the adventures of Danny Fenton a dude that has ghost powers and chases evil ghosts around with a little help from his friends Sam and Tucker. I thought it was a good show with some good character and plot development, I sepcially liked how the relationship between Danny and his sister Jazz unfolded and I thought that Martin Mull's Vlad Masters was an awesome villain (and the fact he was a hardcore Packers' fan was kinda hilarious)... plus, it had David Carradine as a time-manipulating ghost that looked awesome. Ultimately, it was a show with the potential of being a good poor-man's Spiderman but on season 3 it went downhill when they instead decided to not take more risks and for that it kinda went stale. Meh.
Why do I have the opening here? Well, I didn't hate the rap theme, and I freaking loved the show. The opening is way better in Spanish in my opinion though.

41. Taz-Mania (Spanish).
The Show: The Tasmanian devil in his homeland, with new characters... and his family.
Why do I have it on my list? Well, for starters, I always saw Taz-Mania in Spanish so I have the Spanish opening. Also, the nostalgia factor.

40. Cardcaptor Sakura.
The Show: Oh, how I remember this show, I used to watch it on High School, earlier, maybe, I don't know, but I watched it like there was no tomorrow. It's about this girl Sakura that opens a book and releases a bunch of magic cards and now has to get them back. Great, great show.
The opening. In retrospective, the theme is kinda too cutesy and all but it doesn't really bother me. The images presented in this opening are not something special to me, but oh, well.

39. Ghost Sweeper Mikami.
The Show: Oh my! Another nostalgic show for me. I've not seen it since, I don't know, I was 12 or something like that. Oh well, Reiko Mikami is an atractive and agresive girl (she's a bitch, an awesome bitch) who hunts evil ghosts for money, with the help of a penniless, loserish guy named Yokoshima (who is her bitch) and a sweet ghost girl that was dressed as a Miko (priestess) and that always had two little blue flames next to her head. Fun show.
The opening: Taan-tan-tan-tan-tan, tan-tan-tan-tan-tan. Impossible to forget about the opening tune, is just so catchy
We also can easily see some awesome-looking ghosts, Yokoshima get bitten by a hot brunnette vampire and an always busy and active Tokyo at night. Good stuff.

Fly me to the moon
And let me play among the stars...
That's an ending theme.
The Bebop theme is great. I really like the Samurai Champloo one too, Watanabe can do openings.

Also, the gender-flipped opening of Evangelion is absolutely terrifying. Especially Gendo and Fuyutsuki.

38. Fullmetal Alchemist
The Show: I'm only ten episodes into it, but it's already looking very promising and mature... I don't planb to watch any other show besides LOST until I finish it. And I will.
The opening: Al's monologue about equivalent trade always feels very heartfelt and fits with the show perfectly, the second part of the intro, with the song, I think it doesn't fit quite well with that monologue but it grows on you.

I like the 2nd opening better. The first opening of Brotherhood is tops though.

37. Scrubs.
The show: Doctors in a hospital, with some comedy, JD always daydreams, Cox is awesome, the Janitor is a riot and Elliot is unbelievably hot.
The opening: Now that I think about it, it should be lower than FMA, Mikami and Sakura... at the very least. The song is catchy but not remarkable and the radiography is backwards which makes me insane.
